Zygomatic implants are an alternative for patients who do not have much bone left in the upper jaw, or for patients missing most or all of their teeth. The surgery is done for the upper jaw where bone conditions have insufficient anchorage for a prosthesis. The implants are longer than ordinary dental implants so that they can anchor to the bone that forms the cheekbone (zygomatic arch). It only takes one surgical procedure, minimal surgical trauma and treatment time, and does not require any bone grafts.
The zygoma dental implant treatment is done in one phase:
After surgery, patients leave with a temporary prosthesis. After a suitable amount of healing time, the patient will be able to come in for a“Teeth in a Day†procedure.
