The extraction of wisdom teeth is a procedure to remove one or more wisdom teeth, the four permanent adult teeth in the back corners of the top and bottom of your mouth. Most people have these teeth removed for a number of reasons including pain, discomfort, inflammation, infection or causing damage to neighboring teeth. The surgery is the removal of gum tissue that covers the tooth, detaching the connective tissue that is between the tooth and the bone and finally, removing the tooth and suturing the gum line.
