Sinus Grafting Procedures

A sinus grafting procedure, also known as a sinus augmentation, is for patients who have insufficient natural bone in the areas where dental implants are needed. They are long lasting, strong and sturdy, and fit and function like natural teeth. The procedure involves adding bone, either your own natural bone from another part of the body, from a donor or made of processed or synthetic bone material, and placing it below the sinus so that the implants can be placed. After the bone has healed and developed, usually around four to 12 months, the dental implants can be placed.
