Maxillofacial trauma refers to injuries to any part of the face or jaw caused by foreign objects, physical force, animal or human bites or burns. Any part of the face can be damaged: tooth or teeth loosened or knocked out, muscle damage, nerves and blood vessels of the eyes, eye sockets fractured, broken nose, dislocation or fracture of the jaw, etc.
